It all began in 2018 during a casual stroll through Best Buy. One glance at a camera display, and I couldn’t resist picking one up. As I toyed with the settings, I casually mentioned to Crystal how I’d always dreamed of owning a camera. Little did I know, she’d tucked that moment away in her heart. A few days later, she surprised me with it as the perfect birthday gift. We’ve always shared a love for the outdoors—camping, hiking, kayaking, and soaking in nature’s beauty. With my new camera in hand, I quickly became captivated by photographing the landscapes and wildlife we encountered on our adventures. The joy it brought me was contagious, and the following year, I decided it was time for Crystal to join the fun. I bought her a camera, and just like that, we found ourselves capturing the world together, one frame at a time.
Fast forward to September 2020, during the height of COVID, when an unexpected opportunity changed everything. A close friend’s daughter was getting married at their Deltaville Rivah house, and their second photographer canceled last minute. Without hesitation, Crystal volunteered us to help. At first, I wasn’t sure weddings were for me. But I couldn’t have been more wrong.
That day was magical—being surrounded by so much love, happiness, and the joy of a once-in-a-lifetime celebration was electrifying. We captured moments that our friends would cherish forever, and something clicked. We realized that through our cameras, we could preserve not just images, but stories. Stories filled with love, laughter, and all the emotions that make life so meaningful.
We were hooked. What started as a shared hobby turned into a passion we couldn’t ignore. From that day forward, we decided to create something bigger together. And so, RickyCrystalPhoto was born—a labor of love dedicated to capturing weddings, portraits, and events with the same joy and authenticity that inspired us from the very beginning.
